Goth Moth!
Nights are getting darker, Halloween has past and Christmas is looming. It's this time of year (every year) that I break out the dark lipstick and Black threads. Its not even a conscious thing. When the last of the russet leaves are swept from my door I'm all about velvet hues and plum lippie. Its the perfect time of year to indulge my inner Gothic Queen.
Coincidently the luscious richness of the Gothic era are all over the catwalks for this season. In fact more of us wear it every winter without even realising (admittedly without the black lippie). Velvet, chiffon, satin and lace are all fabrics associated with the trend.
Numerous films have made the look hugely popular over the years especially with our teenagers. This look is not just for teens and I think can be tweaked and adapted to any wardrobe. Its a great look that can be embraced partially or completely. It can be worn more casually or very formally.
This look in my opinion can be worn on the high street and equally on the red carpet. As usual I'm doing the hard work for you and scouring the high street for amazing pieces to put this look together. Hope you enjoy the pieces I've found.
Lipstick is important with this look and no, it doesn't have to be black. Best leave the black lipstick to the sixteen year olds. There is a great selection on the high street this season from dark browns to purples . These shades are very flattering on fair skins and there are shades to suit every skin tone. So no excuses!
I've also put several looks together from my own eclectic wardrobe, mixing some modern pieces with vintage.
Hope you enjoy these looks and be tempted to wear a little bit of Goth this Winter and indulge your own mysterious aura!
